Durante Associates and its two principals, Doug Durante and Steve Durante, work with a cadre of consultants, advisers, and associates with expertise in a wide variety of fields. This talent and expertise is called upon on a project basis, ensuring cost effective services for our clients.

Douglas Durante

Doug Durante has been working in the fields of energy, transportation, and the environment since 1977. He was the Director of Public Affairs for the National Alcohol Fuels Commission, a joint US Senate and House Commission created in the early days of the ethanol industry and later served as a Special Assistant in the Office of Alcohol Fuels at the U.S. Department of Energy.

Mr. Durante serves as the Executive Director and Washington Representative of the Clean Fuels Development Coalition (CFDC), a non-profit organization he formed in 1988. The CFDC has a broad-based membership including automotive, agricultural, and other alternative energy interests supporting programs and policies that expand the market for ethanol and other biofuels. He was on the negotiating committee between industry and the US Environmental Protection Agency for the fuel programs created in the Clean Air Act of 1990. He served as an advisor on the ad hoc Senate Committee that created the Renewable Fuel Standard.

Doug has been a media spokesman for ethanol interests and authored dozens of articles on energy and transportation. He has represented the CFDC and other clients before Congressional Committees, state legislatures, the United Nations Sustainability Council, and at major US and international conferences. He has also helped develop several ethanol projects in the US preparing business plans and marketing strategies.

He holds a B.A. degree in English and Journalism from Elon University (North Carolina) and has completed a number of graduate courses and programs in business and government affairs. He is native of the Washington DC region and is married with three children.

Steve Durante

Steve Durante has been in the Telecommunications Media, Technology Product, Software, Services and Internet business for over 30 years. He has worked in both the public and private sectors and has held senior management positions at corporations such as IBM, Convergys, comScore and British Telecom.

He has also been a principal in several tech startup ventures that have collectively sold for $400+ million. A hands-on executive , Steve is active in a variety of concentrations ranging from music entertainment, national charities to professional golf. He serves on the Advisory Committee to MRose Records and has been on the board of the 2011 US Open and Simpson Cup as well as chairman of the ATT National, Quicken Loans National and currently the Tiger Woods Charity Playoff.

He is also active in several charities, most notably the Madison House Autism Foundation. Steve has evidenced experience in providing his clients measurable business gain based on the features and functions of solutions he represents.

Steve lives in the Washington DC area in Potomac, Maryland with his wife Lizz and has three married daughters and  4 grandchildren. He received his BA from Washington & Jefferson College and holds a Graduate Certificate from the George Washington University School of Business.
